Everything is Awesome: Lego is Celebrates Singapore’s Jubilee year!

Our Lion city is celebrating her 50th year and everyone is getting together to mark this fabulous occasion. Childhood favourite and ultimate building block LEGO are bringing us their very own homage to Singapore with its #LEGOREBUILDSG campaign. Inspired by Singaporean spirit and icons of the past, LEGO are going the extra mile to ensure the jubilee year is celebrated with joy and a little sense of nostalgia.

LEGO is encouraging us all to embrace our inner-child and creative side with its Rebuild your memories competition.  If you are a budding architect, Lego-fanatic or you just simply love Singers too much, this competition for you! LEGO are asking fans to construct and recreate their fondest memories of the city and here at Sassy we can’t wait to see what the creative community of Singapore will come up with. All entries can be submitted via Facebook and 10 winning entries will be chosen to be displayed at Raffles from the 10th of July to the 30th of July.  The competition looks set to become the talk of the town so be sure to get out your building blocks, don your hard hat and get ready to show off them LEGO skills!

Alongside the competition LEGO is bringing us a range of Limited edition Mini Builds that are inspired by some of Singapore’s most famous icons from the past. The SG50 Limited Edition Mini Builds will include The Ice cream bike and The Cable Car. They clever creators at LEGO have also  have also constructed their very own tribute to Singaporean favourite The Dragon Playground, which will be available at the LEGO SG50 ‘Rebuild your Memories’ event from 21st July to 30th July. The full collection will be available in selected stores with the purchase of LEGO products.

If getting your hands on one of these mini-builds wasn’t enough throughout the event, LEGO’s very own architects and keen builders will be showing off their skills with live constructions to show us novices how it is done!

So what are you waiting for let’s get building!
